Fauna

The major feline species of the wildlife sanctuary includes The Royal Bengal Tiger, Clouded leopard, Common leopard, Marbled cat & Leopard cat. Other notable animal species recorded in the tiger reserve are Wild boar, Sambar, Barking deer, Malayan Giant Squirrel and Red Giant Flying Squirrel. Approximately 50 species of birds and more than 150 species of butterflies have been recorded from Kamlang Tiger Reserve by the forest department. Two herpetofauna species have also been newly discovered by a team of scientists from NCBS and BNHS from Kamlang Tiger Reserve.

The primates found in the park are Stump-tailed macaque (Macaca arctoides), Assamese macaque (Macaca assamensis), Western hoolock gibbon (Hoolock hoolock), Bengal slow loris (Nycticebus bengalensis) and Common langur (Semnopithecus entellus)
